Scene Writing Workshop: Take 2

with Jennifer Lang

Sunday, October 30, 2022, 10:00 – 13:00

“those passages in narrative when we slow down and focus on an event in the story so that we are ‘in the moment’ with characters in action.” –Sandra Scofield, The Scene Book

This workshop will help anyone contemplating, intending, or already in the process of writing a memoir or novel. We’ll delve into the nitty-gritties of scenes—what they entail, why they’re important, how to construct them. We’ll read and study scenes written by Lori Gottlieb, Kerry Corrigan, and Jenna Blum, as well as do writing prompts to help us understand when and how to use scene in our own writing. Open to all writers, all genres, all levels.

Details:  420nis before September 2, 480nis subsequently and includes light snacks and refreshments. Non-refundable if you cancel within one week of the workshop and your place cannot be filled.

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jennifer Lang lives in Tel Aviv. Her essays have appeared in Baltimore Review, Crab Orchard Review, Under the Sun, Ascent, Consequence, and elsewhere.
